Description


Fixed light – always on. Flashing, more off than on.


Flashing – in this case in groups of 2.


Flashing, more off than on, but flashes longer than 2 seconds.


50-79 flashes per min. 80-90 flashes per min.


A group of quick flashes followed by a period off.


Similar to group quick but with no specified number of flashes.


Equal on and off. More on than off.


Al.WR Colour changes – in this case white and red.


Fixed and flashing F Fl(4) Fixed light with flashes of higher intensity.

Sectored Lights


The white sector of a sectored light indicates the safe path. Entering from seaward, if you see a red light you are too far to port; a green light means you are too far to starboard.


Sometimes one sectored light will lead you safely to another. Again, simply follow the white path.
