Another year is almost

over and Covid is still here dic- tating our lives. Those of us with

horses are very fortunate to have a diversion from the icelation. They help us cope by not caring about all the many burdens we have to deal with each day this continues. I am one of the few that lives in isolation by choice so this has had little effect on me. Horses are great listeners and love hughes with the odd apple and carrot thrown in. Hang in there you are not alone!!!!!! Our other pets love us uncondition-

ally as well. So be kind to them all!!!!!

Jack and his family have

made the final transition handing over the reins to Patrick Connor as President, me — Bonnie doing the finances and opera- tions. Memberships are being done by Tanya in Mono. Liz has changed positions to Data Col- lection which is building a data- base of all organizations dealing with horses in Ontario. We are working on some other helpers to do the rest of the provinces. The rest of the Board are also available to an- swer your questions. John in Windsor, Heather our Secre- tary in Fergus and Mark in St Catherines. A speedy recov- ery to him. Ross Millar in Mono. Jack is remaining a direc-

tor as our Ambassador. Thank you Jack, Judy, and Tiffany for all the hard work you have

done to help grow this organiza- tion!!!!!!. We have a new newsletter

distribution system that will allow us to send newsletter to up to 5000 members and horse re- lated organizations with the op- tion to expand as we grow. Be sure to include an email address when renewing or joining for the 2022 year. Ram Rodeo Kicked off

their Tour in Orangeville to a sold out crowd. Check their website rossmillargroup.com for the up- coming schedule. The event raised $5,000.00 for the local charity Tuff Therapeutic Riding Foundation They provide Therapeutic

Riding lessons for at-risk youth in Ontario. Congratulations to all the

winners and a big thank you to all that participated in the events and the worker bees that made all this happen. Fall is upon us which

means Hunting Season. This in- cludes guns and bows for all types of wildlife. Wear bright colours and make lots of noise when out riding even if in an open area. Road riding is highly dangerous with the speed that everyone drives at and the lack of knowledge that horses have the

right of way according to the Highway Traffic Act. Wear re- flective clothing in both hunting and road riding. Trail etiquette is a must when riding on multi use trails. Use commonsense if you can hear them coming move off the trail to allow them to pass safely. With the helmets they wear their vision is restricted and could possibly not see you till they are right in front or behind you.

All ways keep a sharp eye

out for Mountain Bikers again they are vwatching where they are going at high speed just in front of the bike. Lots of the time they end up directly behind the horse before the horse or you hear or see them. So use the swivel system to keep checking behind you or you can get a mirror that goes on your helmet like they do so you can see them. Inform yourself of the Mountain Biker rallies and other races by other groups. Most of their rides are done by 3 pm. We are updating our membership form. The new forms will be available in No- vember. We are also adding more

information on the website to help you with your questions. You can always call or email Bonnie or Tanya with your ques-

tions. memberships @chrhra.ca or

Let’s keep fighting this un-

seen war by getting vaccinated and practicing safe habits by wearing a mask. Staying 6 feet apart and not attending large in- door gatherings. Use hand sani- tizer after handling your horse or other horses. You do not know who has touched them.

Be Smart!!! Be Safe!!! Bonnie
