www.orcha.ca ORCHA Sponsors ORCHA News Well after we had to cancel 2 shows in May
and June, we went ahead with our final 3 shows and they were fantastic! Our August show was a record breaker for entries for a one day cow horse event. Our final show in September was judged by Doug Mile- ham from Norwood and it had strong competition. It is always rewarding to see such an improvement in horses and riders. My hi- light for the final show was watching young Butch Miller win his class. Butch just bought that horse a year ago and he kept getting along better at each show. After the show, we had our AGM and welcomed Michelle Miller Shira as a new director. We had a re- ally good silent auction and then finished with a deli- cious pork supper. After the shows were
over, we had our annual trail ride. The numbers were small, because it was sup- posed to rain all day, but the die-hards showed up and what a great ride it was (and it didn’t rain until we were all back to the cookhouse). A big thank you to all
our great sponsors and vol- unteers this year! We are very grateful that we were able to hold shows and gather once again. Congrat-
ulations to our year end winners for 2021. Open Champion:Werner Bohner & Casey

learning the sport, building the bond with my team partner “Shorty Got Low” aka Shorty, my cutting horse
6- Tell us a bit about the horse you are showing now Shorty had been used as a turn
back horse for years. I have been fortunate that Shawn and Lisa Minshall have al- lowed me to show Shorty. Shorty is a proven cutter and has helped me build my confidence in this sport.
7- Do you have any specific goals for yourself in this sport? I started the season out with the
goal of attending one show and hoping to just stay in the saddle! As I progressed through the season, I have set the goal of qualifying for the 2021 season’s $250 Lim- ited Rider class year-end awards.
