Welcome to the ‘long-john’ season!
Welcome to the ‘long-john’ season! We have made it to the end of the year
... almost! The Fall weather has been quite reasonable in regards to temperatures and I hope riders have had plenty of opportunity to head out and enjoy the beautiful scenery with their horses and friends. Looking back at this time last year, the
executive was working on this year’s ride schedule and of course, like many things this year, most of the OTRA overnight camping trips ended up being cancelled for obvious reason (still trying not to use the C’-word!).
be greatly appreciated. In the meantime, I hope everyone has had a chance to take out all their freezable liquids from their trailers, emptied black and grey water and blew their water lines, and changed their towing vehicle tires to winter ones. I am ahead of myself this year and have just started charging all my batteries for the heated vest, gloves, and socks I purchased last to stay warm this win- ter! Happy Trails…

Well, we are at it again, hoping 2022 will have 5 ride’n campouts in the Dufferin Main Tract, 3 in the Dun- das Valley, 1 in South Algonquin, 1 Otter Creek, and maybe a few more depending on our members avail- ability to organize them. The only OTRA ride that
would have been a go in September ended up being cancelled by us as the forecast had called for a severe
rain and flood advisory that week- end. Lana, Laurie and I were the only ones registered for this trip and even though the campsites were all booked up for a make-up weekend, Tammy Donaldson at South Algo- nquin Trail Rides was kind enough to squeeze the three of us in the week later. We ‘grabbed’ it and ended up having a fabulous week- end, exploring and scouting out the
new to us trail system in Algonquin for future endeavours. The scenery was beautiful, the colors gorgeous, and Laurie’s strong coffee in the morning unbeatable. This is defi- nitely a ride we would like to make an annual one (or two)! We are also currently looking
at dates in the spring of 2022 for our AGM and any input from members regarding time and location would

ating business and in a short period of time have built it into a successful and respected riding & boarding academy here in Orangeville, offering lessons in both English and Western disciplines, preparing students to obtain different levels of certification and for the show ring. For these reasons, I am no stranger to hard work and accomplishing tasks under pressure. My 30 years of experience with horses, farm life, designing and building farms in the past has given me a great amount of knowledge in all aspects of owning and operating a farm and business. I pay extra attention to details and could even say I'm a little obsessive! My life experiences align well with the skills and character needed to be your partner in the process of selling or buying your home or business.
