ation is looking forward to the 2023 Horse Show Season! The OQHA website has been updated and is full of informa- tion including the show schedule for 2023, membership forms, OQHA cloth- ing and much more. OQHA will be fea- turing an E-Newsletter this year. In the E-News there will be an announcement of this year’s Hall of Fame Inductees. Please visit
www.oqha.on.ca for every- thing OQHA. The first horse show of the season
will be the Area 2 Spring Kick Off Show. This show will take place May 4th-7th at the Ancaster Fairgrounds. The 2022 OQHA banquet will be held during the show on the evening of May 6th. Con- gratulations to all the award winners from 2022! The next show will be the Area 3
Spring Classic taking place at the Lind- say Exhibition from May 19-22. In early June, Area 1 will be hosting their show from June 1-4th at the Ilderton Fair- grounds. Good luck to all exhibitors par- ticipating in these shows! OQHA will be having the OQHA
Race Day at Ajax Downs on July 16th, 2023. One race will be dedicated to OQHA. If you have not seen Quarter Horse Racing before, you do not want to miss this opportunity. Tickets are $30 and include a Race Program, mug, hat, 5
beer/cider tickets and a $5 betting voucher. All proceeds from this event will benefit the OQHA Hall of Fame. Tickets can be purchased on the OQHA Website. OQHA would like to thank one of

the ages of 18 and 25 who loves the American Quarter Horse and is looking to give back to the industry? If so, you should apply to be the Ontario Quarter Horse Association Queen. As the OQHA Queen you will have the opportunity to represent Ontario at the 2023 All Ameri-
can Quarter Horse Congress while com- peting for the title of Congress Queen. As the Ontario Queen you will have the op- portunity to make a positive impact on the Quarter Horse community in Ontario through youth and community outreach while promoting the Quarter Horse in- dustry in Ontario at the most prestigious and largest single-breed horse show in the world. This is also a fantastic oppor- tunity to develop your leadership skills, enhance your public speaking abilities, and gain valuable experience while mak- ing connections in the equine industry both inside and outside of Ontario. You will also be part of the rich tradition of the Congress Queen Contest sisterhood and make friendships and memories that will last a lifetime. I can’t emphasize enough the impact that being the Ontario Quarter Horse Association Queen and then Congress Queen had on my growth as an individual and the fulfillment that I felt giving back to this incredible indus- try that has provided so much for me. Through my experiences as OQHA and Congress Queen I met so many amazing people and made memories that I will forever cherish.
