Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame and Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities Launch Community Champion Award

Calgary, AB – November 19, 2025 — Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame, in partnership with Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities

(Jumpstart), is

proud to announce that the Community

Champion

Award—first unveiled at the Order of Sport Awards on Oc- tober 29—is now officially open for public nominations. This new national

recognition program cele- brates grassroots coaches, mentors, and sport builders who make sport possible for children and youth across Canada. The award highlights those who foster inclusion, access, and inspiration in community sport—reinforc- ing that greatness begins at the local level. Nominations are open

now through Jumpstart’s nomination platform until January 31, 2026, with the an- nual recipient selected by a joint committee and an- nounced each June alongside the annual Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame Class. The Community Champion Award recipient will be honoured on stage at the Order of Sport Awards, sharing the spotlight with Canada’s most cele- brated athletes. “We’re excited to sup-

port a program that highlights the thousands of community volunteers who make sport possible. These are the people who step up every day to keep kids engaged and thriving— often changing lives through the power of sport,” said Marco Di Buono, President, Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities. “Behind every athlete is

someone who believed in them. This award is about shining a light on those who open doors, change lives, and help shape Canadian sport,” said Cheryl Bernard, Presi- dent & CEO, Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame. For full details on the

Community Champion Award and to nominate, visit jump- start.canadiantire.ca or or- derofsport.ca.
