Founded in 2012, the On-
tario Xtreme Cowboy Club (OXC) has become one of the province’s leading organizations for promoting the sport of Ex- treme Cowboy Racing. This dis- cipline, created by Craig Cameron—the “Original Ex- treme Cowboy”—combines horsemanship, speed, and preci- sion across courses filled with ranch and trail-based obstacles. Riders and horses must demon- strate trust, agility, and skill as they navigate challenges de- signed to test every aspect of their partnership. As an affiliate of the Ex-
treme Cowboy Association (EXCA), OXC provides riders with the opportunity to earn points in sanctioned races that can qualify them for the EXCA World Championship. This con- nection elevates the Ontario cir- cuit, giving competitors a clear pathway to international compe- tition.
Extreme Cowboy Racing
has now branched out to all cor- ners of Ontario, with many clubs forming across the province. This expansion has made EXCA more accessible than ever, ensur- ing riders from every region can participate. The evolution of
other active clubs has strength- ened the sport’s presence, creat- ing a vibrant, province wide network of competitors and sup- porters.
Highlights of the 2026 season: • Event Schedule: Offering EXCA sanctioned races across central Ontario, giving riders op- portunities to compete and earn EXCA points. • Training and Clinics: Educa- tional opportunities designed to help riders of all levels refine their skills and grow in confi- dence. • Pathway to Worlds: Ontario competitors who excel will have the chance to qualify for the EXCA World Championship, proudly representing Canada on the global stage. • 2026 OXC Provincial Finals/EXCA International (5x EXCA Pointed): Hosted at the Roseneath Fair – The Shelley and Reg Newton Memorial, the Provincial Finals are the pinnacle of year end achievements, cele- brating the dedication, talent, and spirit of Ontario’s riders. The Ontario Xtreme Cow-
boy Club is offering an Early Bird Membership Special! For a limited time, riders can save 50%
on an OXC Membership when purchasing the OXC/EXCA package deal. Special offer ends February 1, 2026. For full de- tails, please visit us on Facebook or at www.OntarioXtremeCow-

aging new riders to join, empha- sizing inclusivity and growth. Whether you are a seasoned competitor or a beginner eager to learn, OXC provides a support- ive environment where everyone can develop their skills and build lasting connections. As OXC enters its 14th
year, it continues to grow the sport of Extreme Cowboy Rac- ing in Ontario, alongside other clubs across the province. By combining the thrill of competi- tion with the warmth of commu- nity, OXC ensures that Extreme Cowboy Racing is more than “just a sport.” The 2026 season will show-
case the very best of Ontario’s riders while reaffirming the club’s role in connecting talent to the international stage and strengthening community across the province.

Spoelstra to serve third term as Ontario Federation of Agriculture president
TORONTO, ON [November 26, 2025] – Drew Spoelstra of Bin- brook has been acclaimed to a third one-year term as president of the Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA), the leading voice for 38,000 farm families in the province. Returning to the OFA exec-
utive with Spoelstra for a second year in the two Vice President positions are Sara Wood and Ethan Wallace. Paul Maurice was re-elected as Executive Member. The OFA board chose its
Executive following the organi- zation’s annual general meeting, which wrapped up earlier today and had “Strength in Unity” as its theme. “Over the course of the past
year, we’ve seen a huge empha- sis on taking a team approach to achieve the best results – from buy Canadian promotions to po- litical leaders working together to tackle issues like tariffs and in- terprovincial trade barriers and more,” says Spoelstra. “The work at OFA is also a team ap- proach, from county federations to partners across the sector and beyond, and I appreciate the op- portunity to serve as the OFA’s
president for another year.” Spoelstra first became pres-
ident of the OFA in 2023 after serving as vice president and has been a director on the organiza- tion’s board – representing farm- ers
in Halton,
Hamilton/Wentworth and Niag- ara – since 2013. He farms with his family, growing crops, rais- ing horses and producing high quality milk and beef. He also has a dealership for Pride Seeds and is a graduate of the Ad- vanced Agricultural Leadership Program. Wood, a fourth-generation
farmer from Perth County, is a Director-at-Large with OFA. She’s a graduate of the Univer- sity of Guelph and the Advanced Agricultural Leadership Pro- gram. Wallace represents farmers from Huron and Perth counties on the OFA board and farms just outside of Seaforth with his wife and children. Maurice sits on the OFA board representing farmers in Peel, Simcoe and York, and farms with his wife and son near Penetanguishene. Steve Brackenridge (Zone
10 – Durham, Peterborough and Kawartha Lakes/Haliburton) has retired from the board after nine
years as a director. Marnie Wood, a second-generation farmer from Cannington takes over from Brackenridge. Livestock and crop farmer
Maaike Campbell from Strathroy joins the board as the new direc- tor for Zone 6 – Lambton and Middlesex. She was elected to the role earlier this fall and re- places Crispin Colvin, who had served on the OFA board since 2016.
During the meeting, dele-
gates re-elected Teresa Van Raay from Dashwood to a third three- year term as a Director-at-Large and voted Angela Field from Renfrew to a one-year Director- at-Large position. The Ontario Federation of
Agriculture (OFA) represents 38,000 farm families across the province and serves as the lead- ing advocate and strongest voice of Ontario’s farmers. As a dy- namic farmer-led organization, the OFA represents and champi- ons the interests of Ontario farm- ers
through government
relations, farm policy recom- mendations, research, lobby ef- forts, community representation, media relations and more.
