Unique tiles from Solus Ceramics have helped to create a sense of style and sophistication at an exclusive London club.

Featuring millennial pink and forest green décor and furnishings alongside an extensive selection of tiles from Solus, exclusive women-only club - The Wing London - has been described as an interior designer’s Instagram-perfect fantasy.

Set in a stunning five-storey Edwardian townhouse, the venue on Great Portland Street is the first overseas outpost of the phenomenally successful American private members’ club where females can work, socialise, connect and thrive.

To complement its quirky vibe, The Wing approached Solus, one of the UK’s leading tile suppliers, with a specific request for niche products that would create a real ‘wow’ factor to accompany its soft pastel palettes and European-style.

And the company, which has been operating for almost a quarter of a century, knew just what to suggest.

Its bespoke black and white scallop- cut tiles in the reception juxtapose against the exposed brickwork in blush tones and floral welcome desk, while the company’s one-of-a-kind flower-print tiles provide a unique pattern in The Perch Café, inspired by architect Antoni Gaudi’s Casa Batllo building in Barcelona. Coral pink Maclain tiles from Solus’ Starlet range mark the start of an eye- catching apron, creating a delicate partition between the stylishly curved bar and the dining area.

On the fourth floor is an exquisite tearoom exuding all the charm of a quaint English country garden with authentic ornate chairs and trellis inspired gridded walls offering a striking contrast to the chequered black and white of Solus’ Palace range in Rila and Endicot. Made with cutting-edge digital technology, Palace utilises shades, veins, transparency, texture and shine together with natural colours to produce a range that provides an honest replication of marble.

Solus Area Sales Manager Jo Burley said: “It was an absolute pleasure to collaborate with WeWork, which specialises in designing co-working spaces, on a project as unique as The Wing London. The creativity and flair of the design team shines through every aspect, emanating a chic sophistication while offering a sense of fun and frivolity. Solus’ bespoke tiles make a real impact in the reception while the flower pattern in The Perch Café perfectly complements the quirky décor.”

Laetitia Gorra, Director at The Wing London, said: “This was the first multi-level space that we have designed, allowing us to give each of the five floors a unique aesthetic. We drew a lot of inspiration from British and European influences with the ground floor, for instance, reflecting the classic European hotel lobbies I have seen in London. Solus’ black and white scalloped tiles and the floral wallpaper we chose help to indicate the design aesthetic for the rest of the space.”
