Kerakoll’s Biogel adhesive and Fugabella Color grout ranges have both won widespread acclaim throughout the industry as they are easy to use and give excellent results. Both are the result of advanced research leading to the development of new types of product.


Biogel won The Tile Association’s 2018 Innovation Award and is manufactured using gel technology. For the specifier, the most obvious change from conventional cement- and epoxy resin-based adhesive ranges is the fact that there are only three products to cover all possible standard and rapid set substrate and material combinations, whether flexible or not. Biogel No Limits (standard set C2 TE S1) and Biogel Revolution (rapid set C2 FTE S1) both come in powder form and Biogel Extreme (R2) is a two-part hybrid gel.

Apart from the simplicity of choice, the advantages are many: the adhesives stay the same consistency as when you first mixed them even after a long period in the bucket. The mix doesn’t shrink, so you can make it the right thickness for the job and it’s softer and easier to work with. The consistency means that it wets the entire tile as well as the substrate, giving an excellent bond and superior performance. It is high-grab and no slip even on walls. And the inclusion of resins gives it a high shear strength which means it can be used on the most deformable substrates. The icing on the cake is that this type of resin has a low environmental impact giving Biogel No Limits a GreenBuilding Rating of 5.


Launched into the UK market last September, Fugabella Color took second prize in the Tomorrow’s Tile & Stone Awards and is shortlisted for the Tile Association award for Best Innovation 2020. The grout is a resin-cement hybrid which has many of the same qualities as the Biogel adhesives. It performs to a high standard even in the most demanding situations, with performance levels very close to epoxy-resin grouts. Fugabella Color can be used both internally and externally in domestic, industrial and commercial projects, meaning that you can use the same grout for everything rather than having to choose one that fits the on-site conditions. You can mix the product to the consistency that suits you and the site.


The mix is light and easy to work with, and remains workable without changing consistency. The rich intense colours, available in 50 shades, do not fade as they are not subject to salt and lime efflorescence.


It is formulated with a new mix of pure, natural binders which have been hybridised with resin binders and other additives, giving them very low VOC content, lower environmental impact than traditional cement or epoxy-resin grouts, and making them safer for people’s health.
