THE ART OF SIMPLICITY WITH MODULAR ALUMINIUM
PROFILE SYSTEMS Whether you need machine cages or guards, conveying systems, ergonomic assembly benches or transporters for moving product around the workplace safely, aluminium profile systems provide the ideal answer.
Essentially a kit of industrial Mecanno, the wide range of profiles and accessories allow the design and assembly of simple or highly-complex safety systems for the workplace. The modular design and ease of assembly and installation allow for a high degree of customisation to the client factory layout and requirement.
MACHINE GUARDS AND CAGES Sophisticated machine control systems with built-in safety features are there to minimise risk and catastrophic consequences of machine error and failure, yet little of this can replace the essential function that modular aluminium profile systems from MiniTec are able to provide.
MiniTec are able to provide a wide range of standard and customised machine safety enclosures – machine guards and cages that must fulfil two basic functions:
• To protect staff from getting too close to dangerous machine operations.
• To act as a “retainer” to ensure that in the case of a machine malfunction, the risk of components or machine parts flying off and injuring staff are minimised.
The machine guard or cage will not only consist of the protective surround but can also be enhanced with other safety features such as door interlocks to protect against accidental opening of access points whilst the machine is
in operation. In addition, it is quite common for signal lights to be deployed to give clear visual signals on the actual machine status – in operation or inactive for example.
SAFER HANDLING Other applications to support a safer working environment include ergonomically-designed work stations and assembly lines and customised trolleys for transporting heavy items around the factory.
EASY TO ASSEMBLE At the heart of the MiniTec system is the unique Powerlock ® fastening method, which requires no specific preparation, pre-machining or special tools and uses standard off-the-shelf fasteners. The use of standard M8 fasteners reduces the cost of the overall package of profiles and locking system considerably compared with many other systems that incorporate brand-specific locking systems. Thus the only tool required to set up or dismantle a system is an Allen Key.
EASY TO RE-USE, AVOIDS WASTAGE Precisely because the system uses standard fasteners means that structures can be easily dismantled and set up again using the original components. This is perfect for dealing with new factory layouts and keeps wastage of valuable assets to a minimum.
