How does the System work?
Efficient, simple to use, and built for optimal performance 365 days a year, the Pinpoint System is used by thousands of workers every day to call for help and prevent risk of harm.
The System operates in three key stages: Transmit, Receive and Inform, which happen seamlessly and within milliseconds.
All on-duty staff are given a personal alarm, or Personal Infrared Transmitter (PIT), which can either be clipped onto the wearer’s uniform or concealed within a badge ID holder. The PIT has two call levels, Assistance and
Emergency, with two corresponding buttons located on the device to activate depending on the severity of the incident in question.
Once activated, the PIT transmits signals to receiver units located within the building’s ceiling. These receive the signals and send them on to display units and devices installed throughout the site, informing colleagues of the exact location and nature of an active call to provide a rapid response.
This process, which takes mere milliseconds from activation to display, enables responders to rapidly attend the scene and intervene in potentially dangerous situations, such as anti-social behaviour or an accident.
