Internally, it houses four independent integrator channels plus two peak channels, enabling simultaneous measurements in accordance with multiple standards or regulations; for example, OSHA (HC and PEL), ISO 9612, ACGIH noise guidelines and other regional noise-at-work rules.
Moreover, doseBadge5 delivers real-time octave-band analysis (63 Hz to 8 kHz), logged at 1-second resolution, enabling users to not just measure overall noise levels but also understand the frequency composition of noise exposure. This frequency data helps in selecting
suitable hearing protection tailored to the dominant noise frequencies on site.
Set-up, deployment, and data retrieval are streamlined through wireless communication with the companion mobile app dBLink (iOS/Android) or the dedicated Wand; meaning measurements can be started, paused, or stopped remotely, and mid-shift data checks are possible without disturbing the wearer. Download and analysis happen using the licensed-free NoiseTools software, which supports reporting, hearing-protection selection, and historical data management.
Additional practical touches include an internal tap/ motion sensor to detect impacts or tampering, user- configurable upper-limit thresholds, and scheduled measurement timers (useful for shift-based or repetitive monitoring).
