Launched in 2020, Acorn Safety Services is an innovative, forward-thinking health and safety consultancy with a bold approach.
In the five years since we launched, we’ve gone from zero to an almost £1m turnover business. This year alone we’ve recruited nine new staff members with plans to recruit further.
We recently purchased a new 2,276 sq ft premises at Moulton Park, but with the level of growth we have experienced, we’ve have already purchased another 5,381 sq ft office next door to allow for further expansion.
Our business model is unique, with three specialist experts heading up and managing their own divisions – Legionella, Fire Safety, and Health & Safety.
In the last two years, we’ve seen a dramatic increase in companies reaching out to us to support them with their fire risk management, following the introduction of Section 156 of the Building Safety Act 2022 (BSA) in October 2023,
which has led to the appointment of more staff in order to meet demand.
We recently hired a new senior fire risk assessor, Lorna Smith, in order to better serve the growing fire services department and we’ve also recognised a need for client training by developing a fire warden training course.
We offer a full range of fire services including fire risk assessments, fire door inspections, fire compartmentation surveys and emergency lighting testing services.
Last year we published a book – Fire Risk: The Dark Arts – to provide an in-depth exploration of fire risk assessments, an integral component of fire safety management, and comprehensive insights into creating and maintaining effective fire safety protocols.
Every fire risk assessment we undertake comes with a free online portal for customers, which hosts all data and reports securely and is accessible at any time.
