CL EANING & MAINTENANCE

Sponsored by Host Von Schrader

Mike Egerton, Managing Director of Host UK Ltd, said: “A system that allows carpet to be cleaned quickly during the day is a vital component of any cleaning regime. Based on the fact that it is easier to keep a clean carpet clean, than to clean a dirty carpet, the Host Dry Extraction system allows carpet to be maintained and cleaned during the daytime just as easily as conventional night time cleaning regimes.

“Effective carpet maintenance requires a cleaning system that vacuums, dissolves and removes soil. Host’s new generation equipment such as the Host Freestyle and Host Liberator has an in-built vacuuming capability, coupled with brushes that ensure maximum dry soil removal. The cleaner is a soft, organic, natural product consisting of millions of absorbent ‘sponges’. These are moistened with a unique emulsion of water, detergent and cleaning agent,” Mike continued.

The millions of tiny sponges carry the cleaning chemicals to the fibres. Host controls the amount of moisture. It does not soak carpet fibres. The Host Machine brushes the moist cleaning sponges onto the carpet fibres. As brushing continues, the sponges now wipe the dissolved soil away from the fibres. The sponges then hold the dissolved soil until they are removed by vacuuming.

Carpets do not re-soil as quickly because there is no sticky residue to grab and hold fresh soil. Because the Host Carpet Cleaning system does not contribute to re-soiling, regular vacuuming keeps the carpet cleaner for longer.

Importantly, it is the only fully-integrated carpet cleaning system available in the UK today that also satisfies businesses’ environmental and sustainability concerns. This is because it doesn’t use water from your facility, and all residues, including soiled Host sponges, are fully biodegradable. Outstanding vacuuming and cleaning rates ensure that the system remains extremely cost effective and there is little time wasted in setting up and storing the system following use.

A TESTING CHALLENGE

What is dry extraction cleaning and why

should businesses take a closer look at this simple and environmentally sound method

of carpet cleaning asks Host Von Schrader? Testing the Host Dry Extraction Carpet Cleaning System may provide the answer.

An essential task for many businesses is to keep the carpet clean in busy environments such as retail outlets, offices, schools, healthcare centres and care homes. Moreover, businesses must ensure that any spillages or dirt caused by heavily trafficked areas can be quickly and effectively cleaned without having to close down sections of the building or business.

The development of the Host Carpet Cleaner has kept pace with the growing market requirement for environmentally sound products that use little or no chemistry. Cleaning systems must improve the environment they are used in. Carpets will get soiled where people walk, so water and chemistry should be used sparing in these locations. The amount of water used in dry extraction is as low as one teaspoon per square foot and chemistry is only used where necessary on oily and sticky soil.

The end result of dry extraction cleaning is a clean carpet that can be used immediately - no downtime lost, no wasted areas of your business during busy periods and no disruption for both staff and customers.

Mike Egerton said: “However, as with all things, seeing is believing and whilst we can extol the virtues of Dry Extraction Carpet Cleaning and the Host System ad infinitum, the only real way to see the results and realise the savings that they provide is to challenge us and put it to the test!”
