FM SERVICES & EVENTS
Sponsored by Nineteen Group FACILITATING In April 2019, an unprecedented number of FM professionals attended The Facilities THE PROFESSION
Event to network and do business, creating a forum where those in the industry could find answers to their workplace challenges.
Around 12,000 professionals attended the three-day show held at the NEC, Birmingham, which was co-located with The Health & Safety Event, The Fire Safety Event and brand-new for 2019, The Security Event. Combined, these events created what organisers Western Business Exhibitions called ‘the ultimate business update’ for facilities professionals giving visitors free access to over 350+ manufacturers and suppliers and 120 hours of CPD accredited content.
This year’s facilities programme was delivered from a central theatre, The Facilities Hub, and focused on the ‘Five Pillars of FM’ covering key elements affecting the daily working life of the FM professional. The ‘Five Pillars’ included cleaning services, security, catering, property management and support & technology services.
Under this educational theme, key voices from the UK’s FM and workplace community tackled some of the biggest challenges facing FMs. Speakers and panel debates of experts took on thought-provoking sessions. Topics included workplace technology, energy management, security, single-use plastics, workplace catering and fire legislation.
Andy Milner, Director, Clockwork IT and exhibitor at The Facilities Event commented: “We’ve exhibited at The Facilities Event since the beginning and this show was the best yet. We achieved a fantastic number of quality leads and even have a guaranteed meeting tomorrow. The Western Business Exhibitions team have looked after us and are always on-hand to make sure we have a good show. We will be back next year.”
Lewis Brooks, Commercial Manager, ILECS explained: “ILECS was looking to grow our business and raise awareness of our

brand in the Midlands and North West of the UK and wanted an event that was a platform for our company to meet this audience.
Brook continued: “The Facilities Event has been excellent and helped us meet FM professionals and buyers from across the UK. Exhibiting at the event was definitely worthwhile and we’re happy with the results. We’re looking forward to exhibiting again next year after re-booking.”
Rachel Godfrey, Event Manager of The Facilities Event, said: “Our focus for the 2019 event was to build an event for the UK’s FM professional to be able to source suppliers and professional advice on some of the biggest challenges facing them on a daily basis. We wanted to enhance FMs technical knowledge and provide practical information for attendees to take back to their organisation.
“We are thrilled with the positive feedback we’ve received from both exhibitors and visitors so far and look forward to returning with an even bigger event for 2020.”
Preparation for The Facilities Event 2020 is already in place with 90% of existing exhibitors already signed up for the show. Taking place on the 28th - 30th April 2020, the event returns to the NEC, Birmingham.
