For many years, petrol-powered handheld tools and pedestrian mowers were the standard choice for grounds maintenance professionals. Cordless machines were generally viewed as suitable only for lighter tasks or occasional use. Today, however, significant developments in battery technology, brushless motors and charging systems mean that high-quality cordless equipment can deliver performance comparable to petrol-powered alternatives, while offering a range of additional benefits.


One of the biggest advantages is improved operator safety. Without the need to transport, store or refuel petrol, the risks associated with fuel handling, such as fire hazards and spills, are eliminated. Cordless machines also produce considerably less vibration than petrol- powered equipment, helping to reduce the risk of Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) during prolonged use.
