ENVESCA MARKS 30 YEARS

HELPING BUSINESSES STAY SAFE A business founded after redundancy and launched during one of the most significant periods in UK food safety history is celebrating 30 years of helping organisations raise standards, reduce risk and train their teams properly.

Envesca, led by Managing Director Sue Ellis, was established in 1996, a year that saw food safety move sharply up the national agenda following the tragic E. coli outbreak in Wishaw, Scotland, which led to major changes in awareness, regulation and best practice across the industry.

Three decades later, Envesca has supported businesses across catering, hospitality, food manufacturing and wider industry with training, consultancy and compliance support, helping employers navigate changing rules, rising expectations and evolving workplace demands.

What began as a difficult personal turning point after redundancy has grown into an award-winning business with long-standing clients, loyal team members and a reputation built on practical advice, high standards and trusted relationships.

Sue said: “When we started the business in 1996, food safety was under an intense spotlight and many organisations were realising they needed better systems, better training and better awareness.

“What we have seen over the last 30 years is that while regulations and technology have changed, the fundamentals have not. Good businesses still depend on well- trained people, consistent standards and doing the right things properly every day.

“We are incredibly proud to have reached 30 years in business. It has not always been easy, but we have continued to evolve, support our customers and stay focused on helping them protect both their people and their reputation.”

Over the years, Envesca has expanded from traditional classroom-based training into consultancy, support services and virtual learning, enabling delegates from across the UK and overseas to gain recognised qualifications.

Sue believes many of today’s challenges are different in shape but similar in principle to those businesses faced three decades ago.

“Whether it is staff turnover, time pressure, changing legislation or customer expectations, businesses still need confidence that their teams know what good looks like,” she said.

“That is where training makes the real difference. It is not a box-ticking exercise. It protects standards, builds confidence and can prevent small mistakes becoming serious problems.”

As Envesca enters its fourth decade, the business says its focus remains the same: helping clients

build safer, stronger and better- run organisations through expert guidance and training that works in the real world.
