TRAM and E-Pacer, which are distributed exclusively in the UK by Jiraffe.
Part of the Jenx Ltd family, and with over 35 years’ experience of working with children and adults with special postural needs, Jiraffe are dedicated to delivering the latest, most innovative and highest quality specialist products out there.
As part of its plan to increase the Jiraffe product portfolio and target new markets, the company recently launched new products in the care and mobility sector which is outside of our primary paediatric product focus.
To increase awareness of new products in the Jiraffe portfolio, exhibiting at the Care Show 2017 provided the perfect opportunity to meet delegates whose focus was concentrated around products relevant to the care sector.
On its stand at this year’s show, Jiraffe showcased two Riſton products, the
FURNISH LTD
The Riſton TRAM is a transfer and mobility device designed for the safety, convenience and dignity of both user and carer. The TRAM seamlessly performs seated transfers and raises a user for standing and supported ambulation.
The Rifton E-Pacer’s sit-to-stand lift functionality removes a major barrier to gait training with large or highly dependent clients. It combines the powerful electric lift column and secure body support of Rifton’s TRAM with the key gait training features of the classic Pacer.
The exhibition proved to be a big success for Jiraffe, as interest was shown in the products on the stand with many requests for further information and product demonstrations following the event.

Furnish Ltd specialises in fire retardant curtains, blinds and soſt furnishings and, over the past 12 years, has been part of many award-winning care home and healthcare projects, steadily growing a reputation for quality and service. The company used the Care Show 2017 to convey the message that safety can also be stylish.
Fire is a great risk in care home and healthcare environments where residents are less agile, more susceptible to confusion and less able to respond quickly in the event of an emergency. Fire-retardant soſt furnishings buy valuable time, in less than two minutes non-fire-retardant curtains can become the source of a major life-threatening fire. Many care homes are still not fitted with sprinkler systems, so if a fire does break out it spreads rapidly.
All of the company’s soſt furnishings and curtains carry fire retardant labelling (each curtain is labelled), making safety checks quick and easy to carry out. England’s care watchdog, the Care Quality

Commission (CQC), has written to all care homes asking them to review their fire safety checks in the wake of the Grenfell disaster earlier in the year. Furnish urges care homes and hospitals to make sure that fire-retardant soſt furnishings are part of their safety provision.
Managing Director Christine Willis said: “We had some extremely positive meetings at this year’s Care Show and have booked an even larger stand for next year.
“Fire retardant regulations and internal window blind safety compliance is not well-understood and we were pleased to be able to have so many conversations helping care home operators and hospitals better understand what’s needed. Many were surprised that meeting safety standards is so affordable and does not compromise the choice of styles or aesthetics.”
