Email: info@opusbm.co.uk Hello and welcome to the June/July issue of Tomorrow’s Care.

With lockdown restrictions gradually easing and the world slowly making a return back to some form of ‘normality’, things are certainly different for the care sector. While the increase in care home visitor numbers is welcome news, it throws in an extra challenge for care facilities when it comes to ensuring safety and security. In our dedicated Safety & Security Systems feature, we have comment from a range of industry experts advising on ways in which care homes can make this transition period as smooth as possible.

Whether it’s been homeowners filling their time with lockdown DIY or bars and restaurants using the closure period to carry out renovations, interior design has been a huge focus for lots of people over the last year. As many have discovered recently, the look and feel of an interior space can have a huge impact on mental and physical wellbeing. It is therefore crucially important to consider each design element carefully when redesigning an interior, particularly in a care setting. Our Furniture & Interiors focus features guidance and inspiration from a range of experts on the subject of designing with elderly residents and additional needs in mind.

Elsewhere in the issue, we look at the topic of Waste & Sustainability. As usual, we also have all of the latest sector news and updates, and Dr. Linda Harris, Chief Executive at Spectrum Community Health CIC, answers our 10 Questions.

I end this note with the news that this issue will actually be my last as Editor, as I am moving on to pastures new. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the helm, getting to know the care sector and those in it. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our readers and contributors for all of your continued support over the years.

I wish you all the best and I hope you enjoy the issue! Editor’s Voice
