HOME INSTEAD SENIOR CARE RECEIVES 16TH CQC


OUTSTANDING RATING Home Instead Senior Care is delighted to celebrate its sweet 16th CQC Outstanding Rating with news that its Worcester office has received the highest rating possible from the care regulator.


Praised for providing dignified homecare for seniors, alongside pioneering dementia care, owner Mark Hamer describes his officially ‘outstanding’ employees as a “team of real care professionals”.


Together, they have been firmly on Home Instead’s mission ‘to change the face of ageing’ for older people and those living with dementia across Worcestershire, since the office opened five years ago.


The news makes Home Instead Worcester the first senior homecare provider to receive an Outstanding Rating in the county.


DOUBLE AWARD WIN FOR T (N) S CATERING AT COST SECTOR


CATERING AWARDS Leamington Spa-based T (n) S Catering Management scooped a double award win in the care catering category and the contract catering multi-site manager category at this year’s Cost Sector Catering Awards


The prestigious annual awards celebrate outstanding contributions to the UK catering industry and recognise excellence in this profession. The Cost Sector Catering Awards provides the highlight of the foodservice and catering calendar. The winners were announced on the 20th April 2017 at a black tie gala dinner and drinks reception held at Hilton London Metropole.

Care innovation highlighted in the CQC’s report includes the importance of nutrition and encouraging appetite to the health and wellbeing of older people. The office introduced cooking classes for CAREGivers at their request to help improve culinary skills and nutritional knowledge, sessions dubbed ‘Senior Suppers’.


Mark gained a degree in dementia studies last year from the University of


Jack Sturdy won the contract catering multi-site manager award and Julia King was a finalist in the education category. The award wins are a triumph for the firm, who recently re-entered the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For, achieving a notable jump to position 65.


Business owners Tim Smith and Phil Tyas continue to drive change at the firm, overseeing the growth of T (n) S while maintaining traditional values the company is known for.
