Hello and welcome to the June/July issue of Tomorrow’s Care.
Whilst some of you may know me from several of Opus’ other publications, I would like to introduce myself as the new Editor of Tomorrow’s Care, having taken the reins from Alison Carter. As a former care assistant, the care industry has been close to my heart for some time now and I am looking forward to putting my experience to good use as I get stuck into this new challenge.
Keen to follow in Alison’s successful footsteps and ensure that you’re kept as up-to- date as ever with the latest from the industry, this issue is packed full of insightful features, expert comment, striking case studies, as well as news and product developments. We also have a special focus on Cleaning and Hygiene; Youth Care; Refurbishment; and Transport and Mobility.
From a striking transformation of a Warrington hospital to the story of how a former prisoner of war has found new freedom in his later life through a hoist from Autochair, we have a variety of interesting case studies to help you see how small changes really can help to transform lives. We also have a plethora of advice from industry experts, as well as opinion pieces on subjects such as mental health care for young people and the CQC rating system.

As well as these interesting feature focuses, the ever-popular 10 Questions feature has returned in this issue as we hear from Heritage Healthcare’s Michelle Fenwick on how she found herself in the industry and what advice she would give to newcomers of the profession.
I hope you enjoy my first issue as Editor and I look forward to bringing you many more jam-packed issues in the months to come.
Happy reading! Editor’s Voice
