WHAT'S NEW? SENSIO PARTNERS UP WITH LOVETT CARE
Care tech specialist Sensio has announced a strategic long-term partnership agreement with Lovett Care for their technology to be rolled out across Lovett’s estate.
The long-term partnership agreement encompasses a roll out of Sensio’s digital Nurse Call system and the multi-sensor RoomMate and digital supervision to Lovett Care’s portfolio of care homes in 2025. Since Lovett Care acquired New Care in October 2024, the technology will also feature in all New Care facilities too.
RoomMate is a privacy first multi-sensor that alerts care teams when a resident is at risk of a fall and helps ensure staff are available to prevent a fall before it happens. RoomMate also captures valuable activity data that is fed directly through to care planning soſtware to enrich care plans and drive better quality evidence-based decision making.
The digital Nurse Call system is a wireless, silent nurse call system that transforms care home environments by removing noisy call bells. Sensio Nurse Call sends alerts directly through to care teams handheld devices, enabling teams to triage support to those most in need. Both of these solutions are designed specifically for those living with dementia where traditional forms of alerting are not always appropriate or workable.
Lisa Delaney, Country Manager at Sensio UK, said: “We are very excited to be partnering with Lovett Care and this is an important step for Sensio in the UK. We have really enjoyed working with the team so far and have been impressed by their eagerness to embrace new technology. I look forward to growing our partnership further over the next few months and help Lovett Care to deliver the best care possible for their residents.”
Following a successful pilot which demonstrated a significant reduction in falls, highlighted positive outcomes for residents, and fostered a better working environment for care teams, Lovett Care has made the decision to roll out the technology across its homes.
Keith Crockett, CEO of Lovett Care, commented: “Both Lovett Care and New Care are already leading care home operators in technology advancements, so adopting Sensio’s RoomMate and digital Nurse Call system will further enhance and improve our residents’ experiences. The trial was a success, and RoomMate proved to be highly effective in reducing falls. We’re excited to partner with Sensio to integrate this technology into our homes, further enhancing the safety and support we provide to our residents.”

CARE HOME APPRENTICE SHARES JOURNEY TO MARK NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP WEEK
With the UK unemployment rate increasing to 4.4% between September to November 2024, career schemes such as apprenticeships are an important pathway to support people into the workplace.

At the age of 19, Caroline joined the care home in December 2023 as an apprentice Administration Assistant and is currently working towards her Business Administration Level 3 qualification.
Caroline said: “It can feel daunting when you first start a new role but I feel so supported by the whole team, residents and relatives alike.
“I would like to tell school students about the apprenticeship route, so that those leaving education will have a better picture of the options open to them aſterwards, and maybe even consider an apprenticeship themselves.”
Rosalie Courtney, Business Relationship Manager, commented: “Although we hadn’t considered apprenticeships in the past, this route has worked out really well for our Home. We were looking for someone to fill the admin role for some time and this has been one of our best decisions. Caroline has been an absolute gem!”
