GPS SMART SOLE Possum
The GPS SmartSole, created by GTX Corp and sold in the UK by Possum, is the next step for monitoring vulnerable individuals.
Getting lost is common amongst the elderly and people living with Dementia, Alzheimer’s and learning disabilities. The GPS SmartSole is a reliable and effective solution to maintain a user’s independence, whilst ensuring maximum safety and peace of mind for concerned relatives.
The patented GPS enabled “Smart” insoles fit easily into most adult shoes. This removes the need to carry a separate tracking device, allowing users to maintain their existing lifestyle without unfamiliar additions. The SmartSoles come in several trim-to-fit sizes, are water resistant and are made with the highest quality electronic components, ensuring maximum GPS and network coverage.
The new wearable technology provides a discreet and effective way for you to know where your loved ones are, without the need for a pendant or fob which can oſten be forgotten about. The location of an individual can be tracked at any time using an iOS or Android smartphone or tablet or via a web browser. The device allows you to set up text and e-mail alerts if the user leaves or enters defined areas on a map. The product is inductively charged, increasing reliability and allowing easier charging for people with limited dexterity.

The heart of the GrandCare System is a large touchscreen in houses or rooms which provide the individual with social communications, instructions, reminders, medication prompts, and web-based entertainment.
Caregivers can access the system by logging into the online Care Portal. Optional wireless activity sensors, environmental sensors, and digital health devices can be added to the system as needed. These devices can be used to notify designated caregivers by phone, email, or text if anything seems amiss or if wellness readings fall out of range.
The Care Portal enables caregivers to check on sensors, view graphs, set up notifications, utilise care notes, and add social communications to the resident’s touchscreen.
No computer skills are needed for the resident to fully engage with the intuitive touch interface. Residents access all features, content, and communications by simply touching a button on the screen. No mouse or keyboard is needed.
All communication between the touchscreen and the Care Portal takes place using a Virtual Private Network. Health data is encrypted and stored on the system in the home. The system can be connected to any secure WiFi connection or a standard Ethernet cable. All activity sensors and wellness devices communicate wirelessly with the system.
As well as monitoring functions, the system also allows the resident to stay up-to-date and connected to family and friends using the communication features. From sharing pictures to video calls, GrandCare can help. It also has a GrandCare Letters closed messaging function to allow letters to be exchanged whilst preventing spam mail.
