Part of HAS Technology, ARMED (Advanced Risk Modelling for Early Detection) is an innovative self-management, early intervention and prevention solution, combining pioneering predictive analytics modelling with innovative wearable technology to identify risks earlier in the care cycle.

ARMED focuses on key metrics associated with frailty and risk of falling, that can easily be monitored and measured from the comfort of an individual’s own home using the latest wearable technologies and other peripheral and IoT sensors. Predictive analytics, developed with Edinburgh Napier University, flag up issues that may need intervention.

The wearable technology brings benefits to individuals, their families, care providers and the wider community. By encouraging self-management and identifying at-risk individuals sooner, there is the potential to improve quality of care and make substantial cost efficiencies in both health and social care.
In 2018, Loreburn Housing Association adopted the ARMED technology to help predict those at risk of falling and to enable faster support and better self-management for residents. They reported zero falls from individuals using the technology over a one-year period and identified a number of issues that would have otherwise gone unnoticed.
ARMED is proving itself to be a versatile solution, delivering results across older adults and people with learning disabilities.
