Cleenol rebranded its market-leading Evolution 1000 range as Easidose in recognition of its ‘easy to dose’ characteristics.
Cleenol is on a sustainability drive
Paul Twiss, Head of Marketing at fourth-generation family-owned The Cleenol Group – a manufacturer and supplier of commercial and industrial cleaning and hygiene products – explains how the company is on a mission to play its part in the creation of a ‘cleaner and safer world’.
How were Cleenol early proponents of super concentrates that were ahead of trend, and spoke to the reduction of carbon footprints and the reduction of plastic?
Cleenol has since its inception always looked to design and manufacture products that
considered their application, method of
use, and the impact on the environment. This attention to our core responsibilities manifested itself in an early adoption of an Environmental Management Policy that followed the BS7750 standard, the forerunner of the ISO14001 standard, which we gained in 2010, and have since kept.
Beyond this, we introduced very early in the 1990s our Evolution Super Concentrate range of products that were designed specifically to reduce the amount of chemical, plastic packaging, and waste that was then typical in the cleaning industry, as well as demanding less in the way of warehouse space and being less detrimental in terms of transportation requirements. Ahead of its time, Evolution continues to play a significant part in our approach to managing our environmental responsibility.

Commercial cleaning companies can take sustainability to the next level by adopting a waste hierarchy that encompasses three key levels: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. How is Cleenol meeting these objectives?
Our approach to the three R’s is embodied in three different approaches. From a manufacturing perspective, we look to adopt best practices in production planning to reduce the amount of chemical waste and effluent that’s a by-product of our manufacturing process, as well as recycling plastics and card that accompanies the same. Our move to PCR containers is a reflection of our ambition to provide a reasoned approach to balancing recycled and recyclable componentry.
We recommend that our standard concentrated products are used with our Flasks for Life. These are heavy duty refillable trigger bottles that are designed to be used again and again, and have been designed to withstand prolonged heavy-duty use, thereby reducing the need for flimsy, throwaway trigger bottles.
Our super concentrates reduce the need for single use plastic and, allied with our Flasks for Life, combine reduced plastic with recyclability. Our Evolution X2 system is a perfect example of a recyclable system which reduces the amount of single use plastic that’s put out to the environment, whilst also offering significant cost savings
