SPONSORED BY: CROMWELL POLYTHENE The Forefront in Waste Sack Expertise

Cromwell Polythene gives us an insight into how their products and processes make them the perfect partner for your recycling and waste management needs.

First established in 1983, Cromwell Polythene is a group committed to manufacturing, sourcing and supplying products that help to promote the preservation, capture and containment of resources, waste and recyclables across the UK. After four decades of continual growth, Cromwell now operates from two sites; a 50,000sq ft purpose-built distribution centre, and an established UK manufacturing and recycling site.

UK manufacturing The manufacturing facility has enabled Cromwell to broaden its range of products, producing polythene film and packaging for large-scale industrial customers. This move has also complimented Cromwell’s core business by offering customers the opportunity to achieve a closed loop recycling system in conjunction with the Polythene Recovery Service (PRS) and the manufacturing plant’s recycling facilities. The group’s capacity to recover and reprocess scrap polythene strengthens its position to stimulate the circular economy of resources.

Consolidated and rationalised

product range Our consolidated range enables us to stock higher quantities of a rationalised number of product lines, allowing us to offer customers ever improving reliability in their supply of quality products at the best price, adding protection against possible disruptions further up the supply chain.

High recycled content producers Clean polythene can be gathered, stored and then reprocessed. Depending on the application, it can be either blended with virgin or blown to make up to 100% recycled finished products. Most of our products are engineered with recycled content to provide maximum performance using minimal resources.

Cleaning and hygiene industry

specific products For use by healthcare, clinical and specialist waste collection companies, our clinical waste sack range includes yellow and orange UN-accredited sacks for infectious waste bound for incineration or alternative treatment, and ‘tiger stripe’ sacks for the disposal of offensive waste.

Our Sansafe and clinical waste management range also includes liners with Biomaster silver antimicrobial technology. This is added during the film extrusion process. Silver ion-based antimicrobials inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria, including E. coli and Legionella. This saves time, money and resources, as the bacteria which causes unpleasant smells is unable to grow in contact with the liners. Pine Scentmaster fragrance also helps mask

unpleasant odours, both inside and outside the liners, helping visitors to have a positive impression of facilities.

These features eliminate the need to add separate antimicrobial products and intoxicating fragrances during waste collection and disposal.

Inhouse quality team We operate to ISO 9001 standards and we are a founding member of the Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association (CHSA) Accreditation Scheme for Plastic Refuse Sacks, assuring buyers that ‘what’s on the box is what’s in the box’, and that the dimensions and count are as indicated on the label.

Our inhouse quality team work solely on rigorous product inspections and test to make sure they are continuously fit for purpose. The team uses specialist testing equipment to audit and assess goods in, which are also regularly audited by the CHSA to ensure our CHSA-rated products perform to industry standard and prove what’s on the box is in the box.

Dedicated distribution centre Cromwell can be considered as an extension of an organisation’s warehousing and stock management facilities by all of its trading partners, adopting a cooperative and proactive approach in understanding our customers’ ongoing stock requirements.

We can house, manage and dispatch your inventory in our distribution centre which hosts 7,000 pallet spaces, means we are well placed to save our customers’ time, resource, storage space and money. We can also agree minimum stock levels to make sure you don’t run out.

The distribution hub is operated by a warehousing team who work tirelessly to ensure stock is picked accurately and dispatched on time and in full.
