NETWORKING AND INNOVATION ON THE MENU AT AMSTERDAM

INTERCLEAN Taking place from 10th-13th May 2016, ISSA/INTERCLEAN Amsterdam is dedicated to the theme “Networking and Innovation” and will include some exciting new features and innovations in the way the exhibition itself is staged.

Already confirmed to fill more of the RAI’s exhibition halls than ever before, at present the show floorplan is still expanding its capacity to meet demand from interested exhibitors. Solely based on those bookings made to date, the 2016 show will be the largest ever cleaning and hygiene industry show held in Amsterdam – surpassing even 2014’s Silver Jubilee event – and therefore the world.

The 2016 show will feature more than 700 exhibitors from over 40 countries, showcasing their products and solutions in a total floor area of approximately 60,000m². RAI also report that more live demonstrations are to be given across the show floor than ever before, including in the Outdoor Cleaning Show and High

SPIE HELPS BOOST THE ENERGY PERFORMANCE OF THE NEW KÄRCHER

HEAD OFFICE This month, employees of Kärcher Belux (Belgium and Luxemburg) will move into new offices following the completion of a new two-building complex alongside the A12 highway in Wilrijk, near Antwerp. Kärcher, which launched the construction project in late December 2014, asked SPIE to design and install high energy-efficiency heating and cooling systems.

In addition to this increased number of exhibition stands and ever closer interaction between exhibitor and visitor, the 2016 show promises visitors even greater opportunity for network gatherings and learning opportunities.

Strong Focus On Hygiene The RAI reports that it has received strong interest from exhibitors across a broad spectrum of cleaning products and solutions. However the ‘Washroom’ section of the exhibition is one which has seen particularly rapid take-up of the available space. This area is completely dedicated to Sanitary Hygiene and covers 12,000m2 in Hall 10 and 11 with more than 170 exhibitors representing all the leading hygiene brands already confirmed. The

Kärcher buildings in Belgium was awarded to Devis, a subsidiary of SPIE Belgium, following a call for tenders by designers, Archimedes. A key requirement of the tender was the use of sustainable installations with low energy consumption.

SPIE, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) specialists, stood out from its competitors due to the strength of its expertise in the field of heat pumps. Devis has performed similar installations for Boerenbond, the Flemish farmers’ union, in Leuven, and the firemen training centre in Emblem, while parent company, SPIE also has experience with complex installation projects and has managed numerous comparable developments.

A core objective for Kärcher was minimising its new buildings’ energy consumption; temperature is

New And Popular Initiatives While the exact details of some of the show’s events programme, such as the ISSA educational conference and the new InnovationLab, are still being finalised, initiatives such as seminars on cutting-edge subjects like “The Rise of the Robots” or topical industry issues such as “Whether To Rent or Buy” are confirmed and timetabled.

Particularly popular innovations from the previous edition of the ISSA/ INTERCLEAN Amsterdam Show in 2014 – such as the Women’s Forum and the meeting of the associations that represent the global cleaning industry – also return.

Eric Everaerd, Commercial Director at SPIE Belgium, who took charge of the project, said: “What Kärcher wanted was a new eco-friendly, sustainable head office. So it’s no surprise they entrusted this task to SPIE, Belgium’s top specialist in low- energy HVAC systems. We see this as affirmation for our know-how and expertise in the field.”

The installation work will be completed by the end of November 2015. Eric Everaerd added: “I must say, collaborating with these two parties, Kärcher and Archimedes, has been particularly positive. We are grateful to Kärcher for entrusting us with such a large scale installation in their buildings.”
