10 Questions with... Chris Lett

Each month we ask a cleaning industry professional the Tomorrow’s Cleaning 10 Questions. This month, we chatted to Chris Lett, Sales Director at Kärcher UK.

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST JOB? My first job was working for a packaging company loading

calendars into envelopes, so it’s been quite the journey to my role now!

HOW DID YOU GET INTO THE CLEANING INDUSTRY? I’ve admired the Kärcher brand for years, having had

access to the products in some of my previous roles. That love for the brand was where it began, so I’m thrilled that the opportunity evolved from there and that I’m now part of the Kärcher team.

WHICH THREE WORDS DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONALITY?

Compassionate, courageous and accountable.

IF YOU COULD VISIT ONE PLACE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO AND WHY?

IF YOU WON THE LOTTERY TOMORROW, HOW WOULD YOU SPEND YOUR FORTUNE?

I’d secure the future for my daughters as my first priority. After that, I’d be taking my time to see the world in full because, as they say, you cannot put a price on memories.

IF YOU COULD HOST A DINNER PARTY AND INVITE ANY PEOPLE, DEAD OR ALIVE, WHO WOULD THEY

BE AND WHY? I’d have to pick my identical twin daughters and then, alongside them, I’d be tempted to invite Robin Williams.

WHAT, DO YOU THINK, IS THE FUTURE OF THE CLEANING INDUSTRY?

The cleaning sector in the UK is projected to continue its growth, driven by trends such as sustainability, automation/ robotics and health-focused cleaning.

Darren Marston, Founder of ICE and Master Environmental Cleaner, asks:

HOW WOULD YOU IMPROVE THE CLEANING INDUSTRY?

This requires a multi-faceted approach and there’s no one quick fix. Embracing technological innovation, prioritising wellbeing and training, and adopting eco-friendly cleaning practices are all crucial. Furthermore, providing flexible service options, improving communication, refreshing

IF YOU COULD INVENT A MARVEL/WONDER CLEANING-RELATED PRODUCT, WHAT WOULD

IT BE? I’d develop a product that automatically assesses the existing cleaning conditions and utilises the most efficient cleaning technique. A red wine spill on a white carpet would no longer pose a challenge. Stains on glass would disappear in an instant. The product would handle it effortlessly.
