Editor’s Voice

It has been an absolutely sweltering summer so far, breaking records and leaving people like myself planning for an

emergency Arctic holiday. However, I’m well aware that being strapped to a desk on hot days is very easy compared to the

efforts of the tireless teams of cleaning and hygiene operatives out there working to keep the country safe and sparkling, no matter the temperature.

In the July issue of Tomorrow’s Cleaning, we have a special

combined focus on Food Safety and Steam Cleaning, as James Carroll from Kärcher explains to us why steam cleaning is becoming a more valuable tool for cleaning professionals, and

lets us know why it deserves its place in the cleaning toolkit. We also hear from Essity’s Jeremy Bennett, who looks at different

ways to speed up kitchen cleaning and hand hygiene in order to ease the pressure on overstretched staff.

In our Sustainability section, Joel Quick, Sustainability Manager at Northwood, reveals how washrooms can help businesses catch up with their sustainability commitments by adopting a

circular economy, while Delphis Eco’s Mark Jankovich discusses with us why sustainable laundry starts before the wash cycle.

Churchill’s Hannah Dales also explores the challenges involved with measuring Scope 3 emissions in the cleaning and FM

sectors, sharing advice with us on how firms can support their suppliers on the net zero journey.
