EDITOR’S VOICE

Hello and welcome to the September issue of Tomorrow’s Contract Floors.

As autumn rolls back around, it means one thing for those of us in the industry: the return of the Flooring Show and an annual trip to Harrogate. This year’s show promises to be the biggest ever with expansion into Hall Q and a 30% larger footprint. Don’t miss our guide on page 26 to help you plan ahead and get the most of your visit.

In this issue we take a deep dive into the latest innovations in Vinyl, LVT and Carpets, including designs and installation. For our Vinyl & LVT focus, we head to Greater Manchester to see how Polyflor’s Camaro PUR LVT has transformed a beautiful period property into a functional family home and we hear from Recofloor on how its waste vinyl collection service saved contractors’ time while refurbishing a busy hospital ward.

And, for Carpets, we find out how Milliken’s colour and patterning technology has enabled a textile design student intern to bring her creative vision to life with a bold colour palette and complex pattern effects.

As we are all too aware, the flooring industry, along with construction in general, is suffering from a severe skills shortage. It can’t be stressed enough how important training and apprenticeships are to attracting and retaining new talent. With this in mind, the CFA’s Shaun Wadsworth signposts where to find all you need to know about taking on trainees and upskilling your workers or yourself, and we shine the spotlight on some of the industry’s best free-to-access training course.

®

I hope you enjoy the issue and if you’re at The Flooring Show, please do pop by to see us on Stand B56.
