utlines the proper steps to take to get a concrete subfloor ready f new floorcoverings.
HOW TO SPEED UP THE
DRYING PROCESS There are a couple of things you can do to speed up the drying process in order to meet project timelines. Make sure the building is enclosed and that the HVAC unit is running. Using a heater and/or a dehumidifier will also speed up the drying time.
Concrete slabs that have been heavily troweled might have a sealed surface that keeps the slab from drying. If the concrete has been troweled to this point it often has a shiny reflective surface. If this happens, you might be forced to break the surface of the slab via bead blasting so the drying process can start.
inconsistencies can form in it. If flooring is placed over these inconsistencies you could get a variety of problems including hollow voids and lack of proper attachment between the subfloor and finished surface. Using a self-leveling compound will help you create a smooth, flat surface.
