OFFICE & WORKPLACE THE PRACTICAL CHOICE

The experts at F. Ball & Co. Ltd. discuss the benefits of using carpet tile tackifiers in office and workplace settings.

Carpet tile tackifiers provide a permanently tacky film to prevent ‘loose-lay’ carpet tiles from moving laterally under normal traffic, whilst allowing individual tiles to be quickly removed and replaced if they become damaged, worn or stained. This makes them ideal for busy offices with high traffic corridors, and areas with chairs that have castor wheels.

One such product, F. Ball and Co. Ltd.’s Styccobond F41, can be used for securing a wide range of dimensionally stable ‘flat lay’ carpet tiles backed with bitumen/felt, non-woven fabric, PVC and other polymer backings.

It can be applied over Stopgap smoothing compounds and a wide range of absorbent and non-absorbent subfloors, including structurally sound, smooth and dry concrete, sand/cement screed, plywood, raised access flooring panels and terrazzo. It is also solvent free, protected against biodegradation and approved for use in marine flooring installations, as well as suitable for use over normal underfloor heating systems.

An acrylic polymer emulsion adhesive, Styccobond F41 is fast drying and formulated to be easy to apply. Testament to its ultra-low VOC emissions, the carpet tile tackifier is certified EMICODE EC1 PLUS, making it suitable for installations where areas need to remain in use while work takes place, such as offices, schools and retail environments.

F. Ball’s Styccobond F41 carpet tile tackifier has been selected as part of an impressive installation at Cinch headquarters, securing Interface carpet tiles over raised access panels in the offices of the UK’s fastest-growing online used car marketplace.

Adam Couch, owner and director of iFlor Flooring Contractors LLP, commented on the project: “We use F. Ball’s Styccobond F41 tackifier for all our carpet tile jobs. It’s tried and tested and easy to work with, and we know it will deliver the best results for our clients. This project was no exception. The client was thrilled with the outcome.”
