EDITOR’S VOICE

Hello and welcome to the March issue of Tomorrow’s Contract Floors.

Spring is just around the corner so hopefully, by the time you read this, the weather will have taken a turn for the better and we’ll be enjoying longer days, lighter evenings and a bit of sunshine. At this time of year, as everyone starts to look forward to spending more time outside, homeowners and facilities mangers put their exterior renovation or maintenance projects to the top of the agenda.

With inside space often at a premium and the growing trend for embracing nature in design, architects and interior designers often seek to create a seamless transition between the inside and out. One way to achieve this is through using the same flooring throughout. With this in mind, we feature a wealth of advice on how to specify the correct materials to ensure your outdoor flooring installation continues to look and perform at its best throughout its lifetime. We also hear how new products are extending the landscaping calendar by making year-round installations possible

For interiors where it’s not possible to make a literal connection with the outside, another great way to incorporate elements of nature is with the flooring. In our Office & Workplace feature, we take a look at Havwoods’ newly refurbished headquarters, which uses the brand’s natural wood surfaces to create a calming space that promotes relaxation and productivity.

As always, I hope you enjoy the issue.
