REACHING NEW HEIGHTS
Amtico LVT has been specified throughout the living and social spaces of a brand-new residential complex in Croydon.
Ten Degrees, developed by Greystar, is the world’s tallest modular residential building. The build-to-rent scheme in Croydon boasts 546 apartments with Amtico Spacia LVT flooring across two adjoining 44- and 38-storey towers. In addition, there are 10 different social spaces including a games lounge, coworking space and dining room that feature flooring from Amtico’s Signature collection.
Greystar’s designers originally envisioned using timber flooring for the high-spec amenity areas but instead opted for the durability of Amtico’s Signature LVT. The cool brown base and lightly limed grain of Manor Oak was chosen to add texture and a premium aesthetic, creating a calming and relaxed atmosphere in the open-plan social and co-working spaces.
Amtico Signature Manor Oak perfectly connects the work and leisure spaces, creating a sense of community. The Wood also softens the areas and offers a more homely atmosphere for the residents using the flexible workspace and private dining room or enjoying the views from the sky lounge. Greystar’s designers chose a combination of timeless laying patterns, including Halcyon Pleat and Castel Weave, to add character to the contemporary building.
The artisan-feel and large-scale chevron design of Halcyon Pleat guides residents through the spaces and draws the eye towards individual areas, such as the sky and games lounges. Inspired by traditional parquetry, Castel Weave makes a decorative and sophisticated statement in the meeting rooms, for a stylish yet professional office look.
Neal Shah, Design Director at Greystar Europe Holdings, explained why Amtico was specified. “We use Amtico LVT flooring because we like the balance the product brings in terms of quality, variety of finishes and robustness in wear”, he said. “Our designers are

able to use the product in a way that perfectly fits in with our aesthetic and we are very happy with the finished look, as are our residents.”
Elsewhere in Ten Degrees, residents of the 546 one- to three-bedrooms apartments not only enjoy chic furnishings, but also high-quality Amtico Spacia LVT. The designers at Greystar were keen to provide the premium city lifestyle that residents desire, opting for a sophisticated, neutral palette enhanced with pops of colour and mid- century furniture. To enhance the homely feel of the luxury apartments, Amtico Spacia Eden Oak flooring was chosen for the living areas. The look and feel of the natural grain contrasted with a neutral wash effect gives the planks a fresh twist on a classic oak design.
The Spacia Eden Oak flooring extends from the main living area into the kitchen/dining space, visually ‘tying’ them together. The durable Spacia LVT planks feature a 0.55mm wear layer and robust urethane coating to protect against scuffs, marks and spills, which helps the flooring retain its aesthetic throughout the lifetime of the product, as well as withstand the demands of living in a city apartment.
