THE 2018 RECOMMENDED

ADHESIVES GUIDE F. Ball and Co. Ltd, UK manufacturer of flooring adhesives and subfloor preparation products, has released its annual Recommended Adhesives Guide (RAG).

Featuring 6,000 up-to-date adhesive recommendations for floorcoverings, endorsed by around 200 leading international manufacturers, the RAG is the flooring industry’s most trusted guide to adhesives and floorcovering compatibility. It also provides details of the F. Ball guarantee that is applicable when using a recommended adhesive.

Along with familiar F. Ball adhesives, the RAG features Styccobond F49 Hybrid PS, a revolutionary temperature tolerant, pressure sensitive vinyl adhesive which has been specifically designed for use in conditions, which are subject to extreme temperature fluctuations as low as -20°c and up to +60°c, such as conservatories or heavily glazed areas and is suitable for use over normal underfloor heating systems.

OCEAN MEDIA GROUP BUYS THE

FLOORING SHOW The Flooring Show, the UK’s national flooring event, has been purchased by Ocean Media Group, a leading provider of exhibitions, events, awards and specialist publications.

Owned and organised by Wendy Adams for the past five years, the show has undergone a period of regeneration and growth under her management and is now gearing up for its 2018 edition, which will run on 16-18 September at the Harrogate Convention Centre.

The Flooring Show is the biggest event in the industry’s calendar. It brings together the retail and contract sectors and key industry bodies such as the Contract Flooring Association, the National Institute of Carpet & Floorlayers and the Flooring Industry Training Association. It is widely recognised as a key sales and networking event for the industry and all the Associations have pledged

their continued support for the show and its new owners.

Wendy Adams commented: “The Flooring Show is a great event which will benefit from being part of such a well-respected organiser. Ocean Media’s forward-thinking leadership, proven experience and extensive resources will allow us to maximise the potential of the show.”

Ocean Media Group, Managing Director, Tim Willoughby said: “The Flooring Show, with its long heritage in the industry, is well supported by suppliers and retailers and it will be our job to ensure the show remains relevant and deserving of that support.”

“Ocean Media has a strong history of developing specialist events, and we’re delighted to welcome the Flooring Show into our portfolio. With Wendy and her team remaining in place to work with us on the 2018 show and beyond, we are confident all involved will benefit from this new arrangement and we will deliver a seamless transition over the coming year.”

Following extensive testing, the RAG now includes recommendations for using Styccobond F49 with PVC flooring accessories such as skirtings, coving and capping, offering a low hazard alternative to traditional contact adhesives. Styccobond F49 is now available in a smaller 500g Handy Pack, to deliver added convenience and minimise waste.

F. Ball’s Marketing Manager, Richard Harris, said: “Using the wrong flooring adhesive can often result in costly remedial work or can even result in total floor failure. The F. Ball RAG ensures contractors are able to specify the most appropriate adhesive for each flooring installation. The RAG has become an invaluable reference tool for many contractors and we are confident that it leads to the successful selection and usage of flooring adhesives.”

Produced as an A5 printed book, an interactive version of the RAG is also available on the F. Ball website (where it is constantly updated throughout the year), and as a free app via the Apple and Google app stores, enabling contractors to search the RAG even when out on site.
