This month’s Spotlight shines on Milliken who were double winners at the Mixology Design Awards, held in Manchester last month.
Flooring designer and manufacturer, Milliken scooped two top awards in this year’s Mixology North design awards, winning in both the best product flooring category with Colour Compositions and the coveted manufacturer of the year award.
Milliken’s Director of Marketing & Design Alison Kitchingman attended the event and collected the awards along with Marketing Communications Manager Kate Collier, Mark Huckerby, Milliken Regional Sales Manager and designer Kerry Cottam.
Commenting on the wins, Alison said: “We couldn’t be more delighted to have received this amazing double accolade. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank the entire team at Milliken who all played their part in this incredible achievement as well as to our clients and suppliers for their continued suport.”
Mixology North is created by Mix Interiors magazine for the dynamic and innovative interior design community. Record numbers attended the awards which took place at Manchester Central, Manchester on Thursday 7 December 2017. The night of celebration was attended by 950 architects, designers, manufacturers and property professionals. The prestigious Mix Interiors awards were handed to the ground breakers and boundary pushers of the commercial interiors sector recognising the most influential people, projects and companies.
Milliken’s plank format carpet collection Colour Compositions, named best product of the year in the flooring category, takes as its inspiration the large swaths of colour represented in the abstract expressionism style of colour-field painting and is made using high-performance ECONYL yarn with 100% regenerated nylon. Colour Compositions also won best product of the year in the flooring category at the London Mixology awards which took place in June 2017.
All Milliken’s carpet collections for the EMEIA market are designed and manufactured in the UK, at the company’s main carpet manufacturing facility in Wigan and entrance flooring solutions/mats in Middleton, North Manchester. Here a six strong in-house design team works closely with the market and manufacturing divisions continually innovating to create new and inspiring flooring collections.
