UltraFloor have supplied commercial flooring contractors, Oliver Contracts Ltd. with superb subfloor preparation materials to complete a project at a pet care retail store.
BACKGROUND A former Aston Martin dealership, Pets Corner in Amersham has become a flagship store for the leading pet nutrition food brand. Experienced flooring contractors, Oliver Contracts Ltd were commissioned to renovate and install 250m² of flooring across the store.
THE CHALLENGE The subfloors were some of the worst the flooring contractors had seen in a long time. The existing ceramic tile floor needed to be removed and this left a variety of depths in the surface which needed covering before the Karndean and safety flooring could be installed.
THE SOLUTION To prepare the substrate, the floor was first primed with UltraFloor Prime IT Multi-surface Primer. Formulated to promote adhesion to all UltraFloor smoothing underlayments, Prime IT Multi-surface Primer is pigmented pink for excellent coverage control and is proven to reduce pinholing, minimising the risk of costly failures. With a coverage rate of 200m² at 3:1 dilution, Prime IT multi-surface Primer is a must-have product for all flooring installation projects.
Once Prime IT Multi-surface Primer had dried, a 9mm layer of Level IT Renovate was applied to fill the variety of depths scattering the subfloor. The following weekend, after another coat of Prime IT Multi-surface Primer, the remaining 6mm
of Level IT Renovate was applied to give the contractors the desired depth of 15mm.
Developed for the renovation of existing floors, Level IT Renovate is fibre reinforced for added strength and to minimise the risk of hairline cracks – reducing a common cause of failure.
Suitable for deep applications from 3-40mm, Level IT Renovate is multi-purpose for extensive use and boasts excellent flow properties, making this flexible and versatile floor leveller ideal for a wide range of flooring substrates.
Level IT Renovate is protein free, reducing the risk and spread of bacteria, and is low odour providing a pleasant environment for contractors, homeowners and any staff working within the project area.
What’s more, Level IT Renovate has a working time of 20-30 minutes, can be walked on in as little as 2-2.5 hours and can receive floorcoverings in just four hours.
RESULTS With the convenience of excellent drying times, Oliver Contracts Ltd, were able to lay the floorcoverings on the same day, which saved time and money for everyone.
