The Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association (CHSA) has brought cheer to staff and patients at a children’s hospital in Sussex by donating boxes and boxes of chocolates.


David Garcia, Vice President of the CHSA, said: “We had bought the chocolates for our Gala Ball, which has been postponed in light of the Coronavirus. Instead of letting them go to waste, our secretary Linda Belcher came up with the idea of giving them to Rocking Horse, the charity raising funds for the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital.


“Our Gala Ball always raises thousands of pounds for charity, the nominated charity this year being Grief Encounter. It supports young people coping with bereavement, so it seemed appropriate to donate the chocolates to the children’s hospitals.”


The chocolates were given to the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton, as well as the Chalkhill Hospital in Haywards Heath, Sussex.


The state-of-the-art Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital offers pioneering paediatric care and provides inpatient facilities including intensive care, outpatient care, and a dedicated Children’s Emergency Department, for children across the whole of the South East. Over 45,000 young patients are treated at the Alex every year.


Chalkhill Hospital treats children and young people aged 12-18 experiencing emotional difficulties, mental health problems and eating disorders.

contract Global facilities management provider Atalian Servest has extended its multi-service contract, worth £3.7m, with the Post Office for a further two years.


The contract between Atalian Servest and the Post Office originally commenced in 2014 to provide waste and cleaning services, with the goal of reducing both the cost and carbon footprint of the services.


Atalian is now responsible for managing cleaning, catering, landscaping, pest control, gritting, window cleaning, waste management, feminine hygiene management, reception and security services across 162 sites.


The Post Office has over 11,500 branches across the UK and offers over 170 different products and services including postal services, financial services, government services, broadband and home phone, foreign currency, travel insurance and Local Collect, Drop and Go mail services.


Daniel Dickson, Atalian Servest CEO UK & Ireland, said: “Since 2014, we have had a great collaborative relationship with the Post Office and together have implemented significant change. We are proud to be continuing that.


“We remain committed to supporting the Post Office and are delighted to be continuing this partnership, further building on the great work that has already been achieved.”
