species, recycling and waste, pollution, climate change, urban sprawl, and more. Collectively, students prevented the use of over 500 pieces of paper in their classrooms and kept upwards of 20 pounds of paper from being thrown out, ensuring that it was recycled instead. Additionally, students contributed to 25 pounds of plastic being pulled from the ocean, prevented the use of 50,000+ straws and plastic bags, and recycled over 100 plastic water bottles and over 100 chip bags that had to be sent to a special recycling facility. Students also kept over 50 pounds of textile waste from entering landfills, raised 40 dollars for panda conservation, and kept approximately 20 pounds of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere. As part of their final projects, many students also created impactful products including social media campaign content; t-shirt rugs out of textile waste; informative flyers, bookmarks, brochures, and websites; board games; a wind turbine; a petition to save the Amur Leop- ard sent to the government; three different fruit-producing plants; two short films/documentaries; and a menu and YouTube channel for aspiring vegans. Finally, students established partnerships with companies including 4Ocean and Duke Energy, both of which donated goods for the students to meet their project goals.
