Meet our Food Matters Superheroes It’s important that you register your classroom and log your activities to get the support of our Food Matters Action Kit Superheroes. They will support you throughout your jour- ney as you earn badges. The more activities you log, the more points you get towards one of the following badges. It is super simple to collect points, and you can create a

friendly rivalry with neighboring classes and schools. It’s super easy to collect points to unlock badges. All you have to do is upload a photo or description of your actions on your profile page after you’ve registered. There is a badge for all types of activities. There is the

Systems Thinker badge, the Influencer badge, the Innova- tor badge, the Rescuer badge, and the Grower-Chef badge. Once you’ve earned all five badges, you will unlock the cov- eted Food Waste Master badge! You can post your badge proudly to social media or you can print it out and stick it to your locker classroom wall.

Food for thought Everyone has an important role to play in reducing food waste, but the journey starts with education. At the CEC

we created the Food Matters Action Kit to help educators like you support kids and youth in making a difference. We hope the dozens of fun and impactful activities and tips help you to better equip young learners with the knowledge and tools they need to make changes at home and within their communities.
