EVENT PREVIEW
POPULAR NUCLEAR EVENT BACK FOR 2021 T
he World Nuclear Exhibition (WNE), the world’s largest
exhibition dedicated to the civil nuclear sector, is back in 2021. Running for three days, from Tuesday 30 November to Thursday 2 December, at the Parc des Expositions de Paris Nord Villepinte, the international exhibition – chaired by French Ambassador Sylvie Bermann – has evolved into a hybrid event combining physical and digital elements to bring together the largest number of participants. Coming just one month after COP26
in Glasgow, WNE with its theme ‘The nuclear industry, a key partner for a low carbon society in a responsible future’ addresses major concerns in the fight against climate change. Facing global climate emergency, many countries are looking for ways of establishing a new energy model focused on their need to reduce reliance on fossil fuels. Nuclear power is one of the key technologies of the future energy mix and the
sustainable transition towards a zero carbon society.
WNE is the ideal meeting place
for anyone seeking to expand their network, meet customers, peers and potential suppliers, learn about the latest innovations, forge partnerships and sign new contracts. Thursday 2nd of December has been designated as ‘SMR & Advanced Reactors Day’ and will be a highlight of WNE. Convinced of the potential of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) and Advanced Reactors to further the objectives of energy decarbonisation and access to electricity, WNE plans a

programme on the third day of the show to shed light on these proposed new technological solutions, their competitive advantages and how they can be integrated into national energy mixes. The situation has never been as positive for civil nuclear energy around the world as it is now. Projects for the construction of new nuclear power plants are multiplying while innovation around new technologies
and concepts stimulates the sector and boosts prospects in terms of business, jobs and competitiveness across the entire value chain. The civil nuclear industry is a global community, and WNE 2021 will bring its members together: nearly 1,000 senior international decision- makers (governmental, institutional, major buyers, etc.), numerous official delegations and major international players are expected to attend. l
