4 Gas Detection The fi rst BS8484:2022 certifi ed gas detector


G7c personal wearable by Blackline Safety is the world’s fi rst connected gas detector and lone worker safety monitor certifi ed to the newly-upgraded BS 8484:2022, the standard that underpins the UK’s lone worker safety leadership. Unlike other devices on the market, the MFA 10.0 does not have to be recalibrated when the gas combination is changed. This simplifi es handling and saves valuable working time. Thanks to its compact dimensions, low weight and integrated handle, the new MFA 10.0 with its robust stainless-steel housing can be used as a mobile unit. However, it is also suitable as a stationary unit for continuous monitoring of gas mixtures. An RJ45 network connection, an analogue output and three potential-free relay contacts are available for signal transmission. About R32 gas


The refrigerant R32 (difl uoromethane) is used in air conditioning systems and is increasingly replacing R410A. Refrigerant manufacturers and industry organizations also recommend switching to R32 as soon as possible. Its unquestionable advantage, which has undoubtedly contributed to its rapid rise in popularity, is the substance’s very low environmental impact. The global warming potential (GWP) of R32 is almost three times lower than that of the R410A it displaces. In addition, when fi lling the equipment, the amount of agent used can be reduced by up to 30% compared to the R410A it displaces, making it signifi cantly more environmentally friendly. Thanks to this parameter, it is also possible to reduce the size of pipelines and increases the effi ciency of the entire system. Another advantage of R32 gas is its cost, which is approximately 20% lower than R410A gas.
