New Click & Connect centre brings benefit of internet to all
It’s now easier than ever to get online thanks to a new community based learning centre

NEW state-of-the-art digital learning centre providing free internet and computer access
has opened at Slateford Green Community Centre, Edinburgh. Edinburgh City Council’s housing leader Councillor Gavin Barrie and Dunedin Canmore’s Customer Panel Chair Mark Keane officially opened the first ‘Click & Connect’ centre in Edinburgh in September. Mark, 35, from Slateford Green said: “This centre is vital for each and every one of our tenants. It’s a free resource which will allow all generations, regardless of ability or know how, to gain crucial skills in using computers and technology based online services.” The centre is run by Dunedin

otherwise struggle to get online. Expert advice is on hand to help people log-on to job sites, create a CV, get online shopping discounts, pay their rent and access online benefit forms and accounts. The new facility serves the community in and around Dunedin Canmore’s Slateford Green development in Gorgie and creates more opportunities for local people to engage with computers and technology, regardless of their
age or ability. The Click & Connect centre has six laptops for people to use, as well as free WiFi. It also provides classes with tutors from Cre8te’s Digital Skills Academy to help people get online and learn new skills. Dunedin Canmore Managing

tablet or desktop users. Customers are helping us design the site – telling us what they want to see and do online. We’ve made it quick and simple to pay your bills and report a repair using our
online self-services. You’ll also be able to request appointments using the online forms. The website will make it easy to find the optional services we offer to our customers. You’ll also be able to get in touch and have your say about our services, your community and more.
