Scottsdale Golf Week slated for January
will be the second edition of Scottsdale Golf Week, which will be a boon for golf travelers and local residents, and feature special pricing, unique contests including the Scottsdale Open, as well as outstanding vacation packages at dozens of the city’s most celebrated courses, resorts and attractions. “Golf is such an integral part of Scottsdale’s identity,” said Caroline Stoeckel, vice president of marketing for Experience Scottsdale, a major sponsor of the event. “There are 51 golf courses within the city and more than 200 in the surrounding area. “Combine these factors with Scottsdale’s other attributes — the climate, natural beauty, nightlife, resorts and other attractions — and you’ve got the world’s greatest golf destination.” Three of those 51 courses will be the host

the Monument Course at Troon North and the Raptor Course at Grayhawk. The tournament tees off with a pairings
party at the Fairway House at Grayhawk. Play commences each day at 8:30 a.m. with the first round being played at Troon North. The second round is set for the TPC Scottsdale on Saturday with the finale held Sunday at Graayhawk. When the last putt drops, teams will again gather at the Fairway House to enjoy great food and drink while the final scores are tallied and the winners are announced. The tournament fee is $2,470 per team,
and the top three teams in each of three competitive divisions — Open, Net and Senior Net (55 years and over) -- will take home the trophies and prizes. The format calls for two days of team best ball followed by a final round where each team “counts them all,” meaning both player’s scores will be tallied. So, if playing pure championship golf

equipment. There will also be raffles and special rates on green fees for those who pre-book a tee time. This is a great
opportunity for experienced and new women golfers to come together, take in the
retail offerings, and then spend
the day playing — or learning how to play — golf. The event is
open to the public and costs $30 in advance, or $40 at the door. Proceeds go to support the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf of Phoenix, so help the AWGA spread the word to anyone you know who might be interested in attending — whether they play golf yet or not! To register, please
