potentialwhenworkingwith8-minute songs.Halfwaythrough, thetrackbreaks intoapsychedelicmysticdrone. Vocoder-dlyricspourdreadintothe otherwiseembryonicfuzz. GlobalGrooveprobablyassertsthe
purposeofBrightGreenFieldswiththe greatestclarityandJudge’sparanoid squealssustainthis,accompaniedbya mournfulsax.Hetakesaimatalmost anythingmodernandarticulatesthe veryhelplessnessthatSquidare attemptingtoevoke. PeelSt isastandoutalbumtrack, the
rhythmsandinterplaybetweenall the noisesisphenomenal….Adrone-like humbuildsthetensionandthereleaseis deliveredwithsharpdexterity. It’sgot to beoneof thebestfirst threeminutesofa trackthisyear. ThealbumclearlyexemplifiesSquid’s technicalexcellence.

involvedatall, it’scleverlyput together, anditdoesprovidesomesolacetothe listener,givingasenseof isolation.Put thisonandjust loseyourself inyour imagination,switchingtheworldofffora whileandhavingsome“metime. Experimentalmusiccanbedivisiveas
it’saMarmitetypeof thing,butevenif you’renotafanyoucangetsomething fromthisifyoupersevere.OnceI’d listenedafewtimes, Ididfindmyself transportedofftosomefar-awayplace, escapingfromtherealworldfor justa littlewhile,andhonestly,wecouldall benefit fromdoingthatoccasionally. Therearejust threetracks, lasting
twentyminutesorso,but that twenty minutescouldprovidesomething positiveforanyone. Itmight takeyouout ofyourcomfortzone,but ifyouput the effort intoREALLYlistentoit,you’llbe handsomelyrewarded.

Ifyouareafanofall thingsfolkthenyou willbeguaranteedtoenjoyeverytrack fromstart tofinish- that isagiven. However, Iwouldalsosaythatevenif this genreisn’tyourgo-tothenHunter isstill somethingyouneedinyourears. It’sthe musicalversionofaspontaneouswalk throughthemostbeautifulwoods; sunlightstreamingthroughthegapsin theleavesonthetrees,aglitteringstream dancingalongsideyouasyoumeet wildlifesuchasfoxes,bearsandeven articfoxesalongthewayasthebirdsong twinklesinthebackground. Therearejust layersandlayersof
beautyineachof thetracks; fromsubject matter, tostorytelling,andmusical craſtsmanship. It reallyisanexceptional bodyofwork. Myfavouritetrackcomestowardsthe
endwiththestoryofTheGreenland
Shark.Thestoryof theoldestvertebrate onplanetearthisabsolutelyfascinating andprettyhardtobelieve.Aſter listening tothistrack, Inowhavetheadded thought that thissharkcontinuestoroam depthsof theoceaninsearchof loveand meaninginhersolitaryexistence. Its melancholyAFbut I loveit!
