Fresh from our screens on ITV’s ‘Spring into Summer’ our horticulturalist, Camilla Bassett-Smith, shares an event to make you swoon in June!
Think of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ and you are transported to a creation of magical beauty (or a terrifying GCSE exam!) – assuming it’s the former, then there’s a local event on hand just waiting to bring the magic to life.
The Midsummer Garden Life Festival is a brand new gathering of plants, food, music and the great outdoors and being held at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern, is only a short trip away.
Taking place from the 23rd-25th June, this promises to be a plant-lover’s delight and given the time of year, the perfect day out in the sunshine. Of course it has been sad to see the
cancellation over the past two years of the RHS Malvern Spring Festival at the start of May, but it is June when our gardens are really looking their best and so expect Malvern to really shine for this first time festival.
40 of the UK's leading nurseries will be on hand with botanical offerings just waiting to accompany you home. From heavenly herbaceous, Hardy's Cottage Garden Plants, gorgeous Gladioli Pheasant Acre Plants and the haute couture of herbs from The Kitchen Garden Plant Centre based in nearby Newent. The latter supplied us with an impressive number of different mints for an episode of 'Spring into Summer' - strawberry, apple,
chocolate...the list goes on.
If that's not enough to ignite a horticultural flame, then 100 gardenalia and craft stalls will temp you with a tapestry of tasteful take home!
