happens during the plan and design phase. Their plan must detail their specifications and constraints. Ask the learners the following questions:  What materials are you going to use?  What tools do you have?  How much time do you have to do this project?  Where are you going to do this project?  What must my product look like?

Make

This details how the learners are going to make their product. It should follow a logical step-by-step process. Learners may even be asked to draw their product at certain steps during this process. Ask learners the following:  What materials do you need first?  What will you do first?

Evaluate

This step in the simplified design process introduces learners to the concept of assessing and improving their products. Learners at the intermediate phase are only asked to evaluate the final product. Questions you can ask learners include:  If you had to make your product again, what would you change?  If you could change anything about your product, what would it be?

Note: Not all technology projects include all of these processes. Often the information learners must investigate is given to them. At other times, they may not be able to make their products and are asked only to design them.
