Yes, Ihavebeen around horsesfrom avery young age; my Mumpreviously worked as aGroom, so Iwas luckyenough to have my ownponyathome.
TELL US ABOUT THE HISTORYOFTHE SHOP.
My parents(Carole &Nigel Morris)opened the original shop in 1984 at BodicoteFlyoverasa farm diversification projectselling vegetables grownonthe farm and then progressing to moreexotic fruit and vegetables. When Lamprey’s Agricultural Merchantsclosed in the 80’sweexpanded our products intoanimal and horse feed.Wehavecontinued to expand and nowstock wormersand awide rangeofequine sundriesand hope to increase the range further.
TELL US ABOUT THE NEW SHOP.
Regrettably,wedidn’tinitiatethe move from BodicoteFlyoverFarm Shop having had family tiesthere
formorethan40years.However,we were thrilled to be in aposition to constructa purpose-built barn which housesour existing animal/horse feed range, continuing with our fruit and vegetablesand opening Four StonesCafé.
WHATHAS REALLYWORKED FOR THE BUSINESS?
Over the yearstrendshavechanged. Originally, we produced small bale hayand strawbut due to customer demand we nowmakesmall and largebale haylage which has become more and
morepopular.Focusing on good customer serviceisour ultimateaim and as afurther development we nowoffer adelivery service.
Relax?? Irescued alovely coloured foal and have spent time building his trustand confidence which has been extremely rewarding. Ihave recently added to my ownfamily with ababy boysohavetaken abreak from riding fornow. Ihavealso become addictedtodog agilitywith my two rescue dogs with limited success!

IS THERE ANYTHING YOU DISLIKE ABOUT RUNNING AFARM SHOP?
Spending time trying to improve our business whilstworking long hours, haymaking in the summer is probably the hardest part. It canbevery cold in the winter,eveninour newbuilding!
