Ialso went and bought ahuge amount of disinfectant and alarge knapsacktospray
the overnight stablesand all our equipment. Oncewehad arrivedinBurgos for
our first stopover, we heard from friends backat the show that riders were packing upasquickly as they could, rumours had spread that ahorse was in the vet clinic on site and was not well. We were so nervous that now one of ours would become poorly on the journey. Just as we had fled Covid in 2020 we now felt like we were fleeing something as freighting. As it was, they were all absolutely
fine, Mum had arrangedfor some stablesnear home but not on our yard so the five of them could be quarantined safely and quietly away from anyone. We cleanedevery single item we touched; Charlotte evenmarkedout separate areas in the field so she could hand graze the horsessonone of them went of the same areaasanother. It was like a military operation. Finally, aftertwo sets of bloods tests we were given the good news that we were not carrying the virus and that all of them could get backto normal work, whichwas ahuge relief.
