BEDSTONE TRANSFORMING EDUCATION

52

Recognising that the world of education is in upheaval, the Headmaster of Bedstone, Mr Toby Mullins, is undertaking an exciting transformation of the school to ensure that it is well-positioned to take advantage of fast-emerging opportunities now and into the future, whilst retaining the caring ethos and focus on safeguarding for which it is well known.

With over 20 years’ experience as a Head, as well as Chair of both the Society of Heads and the Independent Schools’ Council, Mr Mullins has a proven track record of success in delivering an educational experience with academic rigour for all students.

From removing the traditional Saturday school lessons, to offering extended Senior School days and creating an enhanced Sixth Form with flexi-boarding, tailormade tutoring, industry mentoring, career pathways and a new programme specifically designed to nurture intellectually gifted students and to develop their talents into employable skills.

Mr Mullins is aware of the challenge that many independent schools are facing, and is confident in the changes being made: “Expectations are high. We are keen to ensure that academic success is one of the key features of the school.

We know that many pupils have found remote learning a struggle, and the introduction of evening sessions will give us the opportunity to do some catch-up on the academics, as well as enable pupils to spend more time with their friends in a relaxed learning environment.

Our pupils will realise their full potential. By the time they leave, their results will ensure that they are capable of taking up places at the top Universities or on the most competitive corporate apprenticeship schemes.

Bedstone’s doors are open to new registrations and prospective parents can contact the Admissions Team at admissions@bedstone.org or call 01547 530961 for more information to secure your child’s place to be part of the Bedstone family

We seek to inspire and nurture every student, from the youngest in our dedicated Junior School to the oldest in our Senior School or Sixth Form, helping to build on their unique strengths and leave Bedstone as well-rounded individuals.

Bedstone is an independent, rural co-educational boarding and day school set in the heart of the beautiful Marches countryside in south Shropshire on the Herefordshire and Powys borders. Non selective, the school provides a wonderful all-round education for students from 4 to 18 years old.0
